Armenia has numerous national and religious holidays: New Year's Day (January 1) Christmas (6 January), International Women's Day (8 March), Good Friday (April), Liberation Day (May 9), Day of the First Republic (May 28), Independence Day (September 21), Remembrance Day for victims of the earthquake of 1988 (December 7).

During the commemoration of the victims of the Armenian Genocide about three hundred thousand people each year put flowers at the Genocide Memorial in Yerevan. This happens on April 24.
