Baltic States + Russia: The official language of Russia is Russian. Russian is written in the Cyrillic writing. The influence of English is growing for example many restaurants and cafes have an English menu. People speak Estonian in Estonia, this is a Finnish-Ugric language just like Finnish. Latvian and Lithuanian are Indo-European languages which form a distinct Baltic language group with the extinct former Prussian. The languages of the Baltic States are written in the Latin writing. Besides the official language per country a lot of people speak Russia too; in the cities the English language is growing.
