Encarnacion - Paraguay Mission Stations

You visit Trinidad and Jesús, the best two of the many Jesuit settlements from the 17th century that originated in Paraguay. Part of the Church of Trinidad is in good condition, and displays some of the finest baroque frescoes. From the tower you have a nice overview of the complex. Jesús is not really a ruin, it is more of an unfinished building (which has remained intact). The church has no roof but the walls are well preserved. Grass and flowers grow where once lay a floor. The beautifully arched portals look like shamrocks and the gigantic guardian tower stands only partly erected. Both Trinidad and Jesús adorn the World Heritage List of UNESCO.

Included: transportation, entrance fees and English speaking guide.

Rio de Janeiro - Favela Tour

Take a look at the hills where the less fortunate people of the city of Rio de Janeiro live. They provide the very best views of Rio! The slums are avoided by the rich inhabitants of the city, they are afraid and want to know nothing about them. The residents of poor neighbourhoods are very pleased that you visit. Accompanied by a local English speaking guide you enter the hills (by minibus) and you will stop at some places to observe the lives of the inhabitants there. It is a very good tour to partake in, you will feel respect for the locals and when joining this trip, part of the proceeds will be used for projects in local schools.
